John Montanari
Hello, I'm John Montanari, WFCR's Music Director and classical music host. The longer I broadcast music on the radio - the more I realize that the greatest gift I can provide my listeners is enjoyment. To that end, I select for our classical broadcasts the most appealing classical music from every era, with special emphasis on new releases and music of timely interest. Great works - broadcast complete - by the foremost composers are complemented by intriguing discoveries from the past, the best of today's compositions, and, to keep things light, a novelty or two. Realizing that my morning classical music program comes in the day, and that most listeners are engaged simultaneously with other activities, I leave the most serious, weighty selections for times of the day when they can be best enjoyed. I do not mind taking a chance with something a little out of the ordinary, however, if I think it will perk up a few ears.
I realize that most of you do not often get to spend long, uninterrupted blocks of time listening to our daytime music. I am extremely grateful for every minute you can spend with WFCR, and hope that whenever you can tune in, you find something that gives you enjoyment.
