88.5FM WFCR—NPR News and Music for western New England—has broadcast to western and central Massachusetts, northern Connecticut, southern Vermont, New York, and New Hampshire for over 45 years. Now broadcasting on multiple platforms—88.5FM WFCR, 640AM WNNZ, on translators throughout the Berkshires, and through the world wide web—WFCR has become the source for comprehensive and varied programming throughout western New England and beyond.

With the addition of 640AM WNNZ, a 50,000 watt facility, WFCR’s unique news and entertainment programming will reach even more households throughout western New England.

How underwriting works

You receive an on-air underwriting acknowledgment in a particular program and time slot. Underwriting is sold on a per-mention basis. Discounts are available for long-term underwriting commitments, high-frequency schedules, and account pre-payments. WFCR is pleased to customize underwriting programs to a company's needs and budgets.

Sponsor a Concert or a Special Event: Sponsorship opportunities are available for a variety of WFCR-produced live concerts and special events.

Community Connection Card

WFCR is offering another way for Underwriters to increase your presence with WFCR listeners!

For a contribution of $60 or more to WFCR and WNNZ, our supporters receive the WFCR Community Connection Card. They in turn show this card and receive discounts at participating underwriters, like you!

The key to the success of the WFCR Community Connection Card program is simple: we offer benefits that have virtually universal appeal. WFCR contributors present the WFCR Community Connection Card to receive a wide array of savings at participating local establishments. These local businesses are supporting WFCR by providing donors with valuable savings - it's a true "win/win" arrangement!

That's what the WFCR Community Connection Card is all about, bringing new customers to your business and making them feel good about your involvement with WFCR!

The WFCR Community Connection Card is our way of driving traffic to the businesses that support WFCR and WNNZ. By joining the WFCR Community Connection Card program, your organization will be introduced to quality audiences through Public Radio promotions.

Once you have agreed to participate, your business, with your logo and direct link to your website, will be added to our list of benefits on this website.

How to get involved:

1. Sign up for the program by contacting your WFCR Marketing Consultant.
2. Make certain that your staff is familiar with the WFCR Community Connection Card and your discount offer.
3. Benefit from promotions on the web, in print, and on-air to our loyal listeners.
4. Welcome customers as they present their WFCR Community Connection Card for savings.

What kind of discount can you offer? Be creative; we want this program to showcase your business as YOU want it to be seen to the public! Put your best foot forward and keep the customers coming back for more. Your WFCR Marketing Consultant will help you to develop a discount or benefit that works for you and for WFCR's listeners.

WFCR does all the work! We provide cards and benefit directories to the members (online and in our quarterly newsletter), manage all web listings and handle all customer service related to members using the card.

Cards are available to donors as soon as they have fulfilled their pledge. The directory of participating underwriters (on wfcr.org) is updated monthly.
