Hi! I am Raquel Obregon, co-host of Tertulia. I was born in Lima, Peru and have always enjoyed listening and dancing to good Latin music. Over the years, the spectrum of Latin music has widened as a result of globalization, and Tertulia's music is a reflection of this. I enjoy sharing with our listeners new music, which includes fusions of Latin music with Brazilian, flamenco, and middle eastern music, as well as North and West African rhythms, in addition to the vintage music that I am sure brings back nostalgic memories to many of us. I also focus on the folkloric music of Latin America, to keep us in touch with our roots. I like to do Tertulia in a bilingual format so that we can include all of our listeners in a great big family.
I invite you to join us every Sunday, from 8-10pm.
To all this, we add the great company and collaboration of Victor Guevara, better known as "Cuco," who along with our guests provides great conversation. Cuco also perpares the weekly calendar of events in and around our area and together we bring to you international news from Latin America.
